The students keep coming. More noise. At least one woman hurt from firecrackers according to the news. Surprisingly no one has been hurt from traffic.

Next year, I'll probably take shelter in my cottage from May to June because I haven't been able to sleep much with all the cars, honks, whistles, and firecrackers throught the nights. Perhaps people don't think anyone lives here? With a bit of luck this week was the last. The other schools, including #3's, have ended now.

Wrote my first RISC-V assembly code the other day. Totally trivial stuff, but still something. Work on the secret project goes well, I think. Some of my code looks like shit right now but hopefully I'll get to clean it up a bit tomorrow.

My flat building is getting a 10 gigabit fiber connection. But it's still going to be fucking coax and DOCSIS in the flat! What!? And they advertise this like it's a good thing!? "Fibercoax". Hah! My guess is that the coax cables are in rather poor condition, so let's see what I get out of this. I would very much like symmetric speed but I don't know if they will offer it.

Saturday was movie day! P and I watched all three of the extended version "Lord of the rings" films in a movie theatre. A theatre that offered food and alcoholic beverages! Rare for Sweden. We spent almost twelve hours in the theatre and had some nice vegan food and a couple of nice beers. I don't think I've seen all three LotR in a row on the big screen before. It was great!

When I was 14-15 (1986-87) I read "Wir Kinder..." ("Gänget i tunnelbanan" in Swedish) and thought Christiane was wonderful. I wanted to be her boyfriend. Or to be her, perhaps. I wanted to shoot up heroin and other drugs. At least I wanted to do something to dull the pain. I was probably already depressed.

I didn't see the film at the time, though. Not sure why. All things considered that was probably a good thing. I would probably have been even more inspired. I've seen it since and I think it's a couple of minutes too long. You know what I mean.
