100

or, a confluence

As it turns out, this is my one hundredth post on gemlog.blue. It feels like quite the milestone, and though it may not be /as hard/ to do as it is to get to a hundredth sitcom episode (those take, like, 5 years!), it is (apparently) /slightly/ harder to do as getting to the hundredth day of school. (I ran a 'datediff' on my first post to today and it's 122.)

In a bit of serendipity, today also happens to be that on which I ride my 100th mile on my electric bike, a Ride1Up 700 Series that I got for my birthday from my wife and all our parents. I took a picture, on a bridge even, ready for posting to r/ebikes, but I'm not sure if I will... Reddit is a silly place, and I'm trying to quit it.

So that leaves everyone who might trip across this capsule. Gemini has been a great community-building protocol, and I've had just the most wonderful time hanging out with everyone. Much thanks to ~sloum for setting up gemlog.blue, and for open-source the code so I could copy it (poorly) on breadpunk.club -- which, I promise, I will get working ... when I get around to it!

All the thinking about serendipity made me wonder -- has it been 100 days since starting breadpunk.club? I searched through my email for the notice from the registrar, plugged it and today into the aforementioned 'datediff' command, and ..... it's been 216 days! So not "princely" (hehe) but still pretty impressive, and something to be proud of :)

and an announcement

I suppose that now is the time for an announcement. I've recently purchased a VPS from hetzner for the express purpose of hosting more things for myself, so I'm pleased to announce that I'll be moving my main gemini presence. I'm currently moving all my papers, my bits and bobs, life support, navigation, comms, &c. from here and my minor capsule at gemini.circumlunar.space (thanks also to ~solderpunk!) over to the new capsule, where I'll be navigating the stars alongside all of yall.

You can find me, now and in the future, here:

gem.acdw.net

I'm going to, for the time being, keep my content in gemlog.blue and gemini.circumlunar.space -- ~sloum and ~solderpunk, if you see this and want to talk about redirecting or removing content from your server, drop me a line at acdw@acdw.net.
