The price of Christmas trees has doubled in the last few years. This is partly offset by getting one free last year. If you want to try this, the method is to leave it until about 23rd Dec and go somewhere that still has loads left and just wants to get rid of them. Risky strategy.

One of my offspring was coming home tomorrow but caught the virus. Symptoms seem relatively mild. I'm collecting another by car to avoid public transport contamination. Oh, assuming that I have a negative test first...

I went Christmas shopping yesterday. First time I'd been in a non-food shop for... months? Over a year? So no guarantee that my test will be negative. It's not a good time to be a shopkeeper.

I've put the Christmas duvet cover on. A few years ago we had a bit of a moment and bought one with snowy pine trees and bears in Santa hats on it. Aesthetics are a bit different at this time if year.
