US and Mexican Grand Prix 🏁

Not much to say about these races. Verstappen drove well, but wasn't under much stress. Red Bull are faster than Mercedes, despite a blip when Bottas took pole in Mexico.

If Verstappen hadn't been taken out twice earlier this year, it would be all over now. The only way that Hamilton will be champion is if there are more races that Verstappen doesn't finish.

I'm wondering what happens next year. Mercedes have done no updates for ages because they're working on next year. But that doesn't guarantee they'll produce something good. If we're lucky, some team will disrupt the order like Brawn did. If we're not lucky, there'll be some minor shuffling of the order.

Räikkönen, Vettel and Alonso seem ok about picking up small points in the lower mid-field, but I bet Hamilton won't fancy that. If Mercedes aren't in contention next year, he'll find something else to do - maybe following up diversity initiatives.

Oh, well. Stats page updated as usual.

Here be graphs
