Boating 🚣 and Turkish GP 🏁 and camp fire blankets 🔥

We had an outing on the canal. After lunch on a floating restaurant, there was prosecco on a bench, then we went out on a little electric boat.

The sun was out even though it was October. Family members turned up. It was a good day.

But we got home late, which gave me little time to catch up. I had to cut out letters for kids to sew onto camp fire blankets. So many letters. I watched the Turkish Grand Prix while I did it. The at 1am, I had to leave both of those things unfinished in favour of sleep.

So after work on Monday I finished them both. Doing two unrelated things at once always leaves them connected in my mind. As I cleared up the felt clippings, all I could see was Charles Leclerc driving through the rain.

The race was wet, which is usually makes it fun. Not this time. Very little happened. Perez did a good job of defending against Hamilton, but mostly we had to "enjoy" tyre strategy, and even that had only one real option. Poor Leclerc, thinking he might win. Bottas had an impressive win, though.
