A bit of an uproar is going on in gemini space, because someone's feed got blocked on ~antenna. The words censorship and deplatforming are called out loud. See here for a start:
My observations:
ew0k hosts this instance of ~antenna on their private machine. Their server, their rules.
ew0k is under no obligation to provide any service to anyone, not even me.
Anyone is entitled to run their own instance of ~antenna or any other feed aggregator.
Antenna features a filter, and I use it. Among others I have blocked the feed of the person triggering the uproar for quite some time. or example I cannot read and understand all languages on the planet, so I filter stuff out. Its a feature, you may as well use it.
So it seems to me that what the author of the disputed post is really complaining about is the loss of easy far reaching visibility.
In my jurisdiction there is also a blurry line, beyond which I will be held responsible for promoting $your_favourite_crime by providing information or links.
This is another case of no simple answer.
