2022-01-17 Sex and the City revisited

My wife and I watched a very early episode of Sex and the City a few nights ago. The four women on that show are all sexy and beautiful and wealthy and open to new opportunities and worshipers of freedom and upbeat and self deprecating. And cynical of Jesus' teachings on sexual morality and dedicated to the belief that fornication done right is among the highest of goods. Watching them play act at enjoying and living out their liberation, enjoying or at least playacting enjoyment of sex and good will with people they may choose not to devote themselves to warns me off of desiring them at their most desirable and of worshiping their gods. My lust for them is felt, but I am confident God will abandon me if I allow it to abide.
