"Pastor Schneider, I am Alfred Jung, an SA officer from our Hochelheim office."

"Yes," Paul replied, "I believe my parents knew your family."

"I am sorry, Pastor," Jung said, "that my visit is based on a demand by my superior, Mehl"

With that Jung handed Paul a note. Paul opened the envelope, unfolded the paper and read:

>National Socialist Headquarters, Hochelheim, Tuesday, October 10, 1933

>-To Pastor Schneider, Hochelheim

>On your church bulletin board, you have posted two protests, one against SA chief Rohm and one against the Hitler Youth. The content of these protests could cause unrest and misunderstanding among the populace. I, therefore, request that you immediately remove the protests from the bulletin board and turn them over to the officer bearing this note. I request that in future you submit all writings of a political nature to me before posting them.
