Emi's page

Hi there! I'm Emi Socks and this is my personal Gemini page.

So, who's Emi Socks?

I'm a nonbinary person (pronouns are they/them) in my late 20s native from Spain, but currently living in Denmark. I speak Spanish, English and a little bit of Danish. I am also, in case it wasn't obvious, a cat.

What are your interests?

Right now I am studying a master's degree in mathematics, focusing on algebraic topology, category theory and logic wherever I can. Mathematics education is one of my passions, even though I haven't created anything to that effect (yet).

I also enjoy programming, and Haskell is easily my language of choice. I have previously worked with Javascript and Python as well, and I have a little bit of experience making web apps, mostly on the backend side, and Android apps. I like to play around with software and make things myself where I can as a learning experience.

As for hobbies, I'm a videogame enthusiast. JRPGs and platformers are what I play the most, and I also really like visual novels and rhythm games. My favourite game of all time is Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, in case that tells you anything. If you wanna chat with me about something, videogames are the safest bet.

What kind of stuff do you make?

In terms of software, I don't have any big projects and I tend to leave a lot of projects unfinished, but here's a couple examples:

A silly "pride flag generator"

A toy programming language written in Haskell

A Gemini HTTP proxy

A proof-of-concept web lobby in Elixir using websockets

I also have a blog where I write about stuff I find interesting:

My blog (simplified Gemini mirror)

And on a more artistic note, I write short stories sometimes, though a lot of them are NSFW:
