Okay so one of the best things about this GDQuest course is that it shows off some concrete examples of:

writing code vs using godot editor

composition vs inheritance

I wrote a few weeks ago about the inheritance approach in godot, and I think it makes a lot of sense, but also seeing some real examples of composition are fantastic. One thing that I learned while playing around is that godot 3 doesn't support first-class functions, which is a bummer. I hope that changes in future versions of godot.
