20210718 Fruit

We have a fruit bowl, but also a lot of fruit flies. It's a constant struggle. Sometimes I keep the fruit in the fridge, but some fruit doesn't like that very much and we end up throwing that fruit away and the fruit flies love it when we dump it in the bin. Every time you open the bin ten fruit flies escape. I tried those fruit fly traps, but our fruit flies do not seem to be attracted to them. We do have spiders in the house and these days I encourage them to do their thing. The simplest remedy would be to stop eating fruit, but that's not a real option for us. So I occasionally use the vacuum to suck those suckers right out of the air. But still, we seem to be on the losing end of the battle. Their reproduction rate is just amazing.
