20210708 Chairs

On the wall next to the bookcase in our living room we have a wooden table and four chairs. This is where we eat. We bought this ensemble together and they are all made from solid wood. When our youngest was about 7 she pushed one of the chairs so hard that it fell over and the top of the chair broke off. The wood just snapped. It is now missing a third of the back of the chair and sitting one it is not very comfortable. That was nine years ago. The shop where we bought these chairs doesn't exist anymore. We considered buying different chairs, but shopping for furniture is our least favourite activity in the world, so we never got around to actually buying new chairs and we hardly notice the broken chair. Only when we get visitors we feel a little ashamed when they take seat on this broken chair and we make apologies the first time around.
