The first leg of our journey is now completed and I will
be proceeding to transfer command to the captain as soon
as the de-hybernation process is finished.
We can confirm there are no signs of artificial EM
emissions and so there is little hope for an advanced
alien civilization. This is as much a relief as a
disappointment.
However we cannot discard the possibility of alien
life, even intelligent life. We are proceeding with
caution to a Jupiter sized planet, to orbit on its
relatively free L3 point. Our estimates, consider
lack of EM emissions indicate that the astronomical
instruments an hypotetical civilization might use
have a probability of detecting us in one year of
less than 10^-8. And even so, we would be just a
dim weird object.
