kaizo godwins law: gaiden: redux -- israel-palestine edition

25 feb 2024

first things first

[

ok, i know i havent been posting like i promised. idk if anyone will ever actually see this now that i have boiled away what audience existed. there used to be people who read this stupid blog lol to the point where when i stopped posting i got dozens of emails asking me where i went. as i said in my last couple posts, where i went was law school and it gobbles up so much of your time and your brain that i just cannot invest the psychic energy i want into this thing.

as i think i already mentioned, its interesting the way law school not only depatterns and repatterns your brain for a particular kind of reasoning but also changes the way you visualize time and even interpersonal relationships. it is a well-known phenomenon that when someone goes to law school, they end up ghosting most of the people in their life, and those people only hear from them every few days or weeks, often not even replying to texts. i cant even bring myself to read non-school-related books a lot of the time. very fascinating. theres this real sense of "i could instead be investing this burst of mental energy into my law review note, or this activity, or this other activity, etc" that is almost paralyzing in a real way.

i will be posting intermittently. check every few months if you want to keep up, though obviously its been more than a "few months" now. this post was made possible by an insane friend/roommate situation giving rise to social helter skelter that i needed to get out somewhere. so ironically you can actually thank the social schizophrenia law school gives its attendees for this one!

THE MAIN EVENT

enter alice

today we are going to be talking about this screenshot.

i will reproduce the text below, if you cant open the image, but for now, allow me to build backstory. this is a screenshot from an instagram story. the name and pfp are clumsily censored with the gimp pen tool. it was posted by the roommate (we will call her alice) of 3 close friends of mine, who is also the girlfriend of another close friend of mine. the roommates are going absolutely fucking crazy, just losing their minds, basically to the point where theyre unable to hold a conversation with her anymore, because she is a deranged zionist. simply deranged. you dont understand. what i am about to describe has been going on, with at least one or two major plotpoints occurring every day, for the ENTIRE FOUR MONTHS since oct 7.

every conversation you have with her will turn into her ranting about it. if you say "ok bye alice" and head into your bedroom, she yells through the door like "hey did you know..." and just doesnt stop. she posts about it on instagram 24 hours a day, has gone to most of the professors she has ever had to cry about it, has sent mass emails to the entire law school talking about how hamas beheaded 40 babies, and has on at least 5 occasions gone to the dean to try to get the womens law student association, the black law student association, and other student orgs (mostly affinity groups, it also includes the affinity group for queer students but that has a specific name at our campus that i dont want to reveal for dox reasons so i wont tell that story) banned from campus for antisemitism.

when i say antisemitism, this is to say that she asked them to put out a statement explicitly siding with israel and affirming the truth of "40 beheaded babies", "women have their unborn babies ripped out of their bodies while they are alive and are then raped until their pelvises break" type pro-israeli fetish content style conspiracy theories, and they refused to put out the statement she wanted them to because she is insane. therefore, these organizations are necessarily antisemitic.

she also separately tried to get the womens law student assoc banned because in order to remain an organization in good standing you have to coordinate at least one charitable event with another org every year, and so this law womens org did a fundraiser for a homeless shelter in conjunction with a main campus general anti-war pro-pacifism student org. unbeknownst to anyone but alice, this main campus org is a terrorist group which organized the "only on campus protest that actually got violent." when pressed, she told us that their anti-war protest "actually g[etting] violent" took the form of a couple people having "from the river to the sea" signs. thats what she meant. so yeah anyway basically every affinity group is terrorists.

she also on numerous occasions has reported the middle eastern law students association for antisemitism and inciting terrorism, both to the law school administration and campus security. in each case nothing happened because she had literally no example except that a member of the middle eastern club reply-all'd one of her, again, unsolicited mass emails to the entire school, to point out that she was repeating misinformation that was already widely known to be false. she also individually tried to get the president of the middle eastern law students association banned from campus, for harassment. this harassment took the form of alice sending the president, who is a friend of mine so she has shown me the texts, like completely insane nonsense and conspiracy theories, and the president responding after months of this with "alice, im worried about the direction youre going and i would love to talk sometime about this" (this was antisemitic harassment for the record, do not reach out to try to support someone, ever).

last month she decided to submit a blog post to the blog of the law school's international law and human rights journal. she proceeded to tell all three of her roommates that she deliberately wrote her submission, which was about how evil hamas is, so that it did not meet the formatting guidelines for blog submissions and failed to cite sources as required. she said explicitly to her roommates and boyfriend that this was because she wanted it to be rejected, so that she could complain to the school and claim it was because of antisemitism, so that she could get the editor of the blog removed from their position and punished for antisemitism. she felt the school was not taking antisemitism seriously enough and she intended to prove that there was widespread antisemitism in the student body, student orgs, and the administration. her submission was subsequently denied, as she explicitly intended, due to widespread formatting problems and failure to cite sources as required. the result was that she complained to the school, nothing happened, and she violently cried to her roommates about it for several consecutive days. these being the same roommates she had already told that it was a lie. when they failed to give her the emotional comfort she was looking for, since she had, again, already told them this entire thing was a lie, she got very mad. in the following days she loudly yelled at her therapist in her room for the whole apartment to hear that she needs more positive reinforcement from her friends.

this is who we are dealing with. this roommate conflict infiltrates my social circle at every level in a very wacky way, and i think it is essential to understand what motivated me, on like a psychological level, to come post this today.

double reverse mirror universe godwins law

today, she posted the above-linked image on her instagram story. it is reposted from "@telavivinstitute". it has sources of "World Jewish Congress" and "Sheffield Hallam University". it says, in full, as follows:

> WHAT IS HOLOCAUST INVERSION?

>

> Clemens Heni, director of the Berlin International Center for the Study of Antisemitism, argues that *comparing Israel* to *Nazi Germany* is a form of *Holocaust inversion*. This involves *twisting* the truth and *morality* by *minimizing* the Holocaust's *horrors* to portray Israel's actions as *comparable* to *Nazi atrocities*, despite Israel *not initiating* the conflicts.

>

> This *distortion* suggests that instead of being *victims*, *Jews needed the Holocaust* as a *moral lesson*. Such inversions aim to *dehumanize* Jews and *fuel antisemitism*, creating a distorted, topsy-turvy reality.

the screenshot was taken and sent to me by someone else (i dont have instagram), and what they were struck by when they sent it to me was the vast logical leap taken between the first and second paragraphs. like, even if you assume the first paragraph is true, there is nothing about that that would tend to suggest the holocaust was a good thing and taught the jewish people a lesson. thats something theyre making up, and its not something literally anyone on the planet has ever said before or believed. it doesnt follow from the premises of the first paragraph. it's just weird, right? like where are they getting that from???

like it just doesnt make sense: people compare the two because theyre both cartoonishly horrifying ethnoreligious genocides being carried out with comparably sadistic glee and coupled with dehumanization of the victims in the genociding culture by comparison to literally the same sets of insects and rodents, it doesnt have to be more complicated than that and it isnt, and it certainly is not that the people making the comparison think the holocaust was deserved. in fact, if you use your fucking noggin for a second, their argument OBVIOUSLY ASSUMES that the holocaust is bad. their whole argument is "this is bad like the holocaust", so obviously they think the holocaust was bad.

now, whether you believe thats a fair comparison or not, the question that immediately arises is this: where the fuck did the zionist who wrote this originally, and alice who reposted it, get the idea that the comparison of the genocide in gaza to the holocaust was supposed to be "the holocaust is good, like the genocide in gaza"? well -- as usual -- its a critical theory of mind roll failure (c.f. the other post with godwins law in the title).

see, there is actually no logical leap into the second paragraph from a purely israeli perspective. in fact, it makes perfect sense. the israeli perspective is, EXPLICITLY, that instead of being victims, palestinians "needed the genocide as a moral lesson". this much is clear from literally every israeli official's public statements, literally just a few days ago the israeli minister for diversity, may golan, publicly said that she is "personally proud of the ruins of gaza" specifically because it means "that every baby, even 80 years from now, will tell their grandchildren what the Jews did"[^1]. so when someone with that perspective looks at a comparison to the holocaust, they think the point of the comparison is to say that the holocaust, like the current genocide, was good and a moral lesson for the jewish people, rather than what it obviously is obviously saying to LITERALLY anyone else, which is that the current genocide, like the holocaust, is bad lol.

"x is bad because its like the nazis" is such a common type of argument that it should be really easy to identify, but if you simply cannot comprehend that someone else wouldnt see the gaza genocide as a just and right moral lesson for the cockroach palestinians, like you believe, then it isnt as obvious anymore. no, someone couldnt possibly believe that the idf is bad, so they must therefore think the nazis were good!!! this logic is made obvious here because the thing in the second paragraph, that the holocaust was a moral lesson for jewish people, is not something anyone has ever said or believed in world history. ive never even seen a nazi say it. it's not even what nazis believe. they dont see the holocaust as a "moral lesson" for jewish people, because it turns out they were actually trying to kill jewish people, not teach them a "moral lesson". fascinatingly, as ive shown, this is -- again -- EXPLICITLY the EXACT thing israel says its trying to do to palestinians.

try to think about that for a second: its just so funny and telling that israel's own ideology is so ass backwards from anything resembling normal that they see a comparison to the holocaust, despite the fact that comparison to hitler is one of the common ways of owning someone online and irl, to the point where the fact that any debate inevitably devolves into it has a literal name as a phenomenon -- the namesake of this post -- despite this, they literally cannot comprehend that people are making the comparison to say that israel is bad: they are obviously not bad, so the point of the comparison must necessarily be to say that the holocaust, like israel's actions, was good!

ALARM BELLS SHOULD BE RINGING IN YOUR HEAD. THIS IS A SELF-REPORT OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. WEE WOO WEE WOO.
