02:30 AM and I just finished reading "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir (the author of "The Martian", which I did not read - yet)
Obviously, I can not get to sleep as I think non-stop about what I just read.
I will avoid any spoiler and will be brief for the pitch : the story is told as "first-person" by our hero who wakes up in an unknown and technological place, with his memories lost. They gradually come back during flashbacks and will tell him more...
Comedic tone is present, science too, but what made me hold my breath was about relationships and communication.
I am unable to say more without revealing the story, but maybe I will develop in a clearly labelled "SPOILER" post, or with you by e-mail if you want to discuss about it !
Note : I read the book in French, I can not say if translation is faithful but it seems coherent during the whole book.
Note 2 : I still wonder why titles are so different : Project Hail Mary ("Projet Je vous salue Marie") vs. Projet Dernière Chance ("Project Last Chance")
Il est 02:30 (AM), et je viens de terminer la lecture de "Projet Dernière Chance" par Andy Weir, l'auteur de "Seul sur Mars" que je n'ai pas encore lu.
Evidemment, je n'arrive pas à m'endormir tellement je réfléchis sur ce que j'ai lu.
Je vais éviter tout spoil (ou "divulgâchis" en bon néo-français) et donc serai bref : il s'agit d'une histoire racontée à la première personne, où notre héros se réveille dans un lieu inconnu et étrangement technologique, en ayant perdu la mémoire. Cette dernière revient par flashbacks régulièrement lorsqu'il la sollicite et lui en dira plus...
L'humour est très présent, la science aussi, mais ce qui m'a le plus tenu en haleine est relatif aux aspects relationnels et communicationnels.
Impossible d'en dire plus sans révéler l'histoire, mais peut-être élaborerai-je dans un post clairement "spoiler", ou bien avec vous par mail si vous souhaitez échanger !
Note : j'ai lu le livre en français, la traduction est cohérente au sein du livre et plutôt bien fichue.
Note 2 : je me demande toujours pourquoi les titres sont aussi différents Project Hail Mary ("Projet Je vous salue Marie") vs. Projet Dernière Chance ("Project Last Chance")
