Pokemon Center

Posted Fri 20 Ago, 2021.

So I finally made a CGI to have a "real-world" test of the CGI support I implemented in SpaceBeans 1.2.0.

It is nothing fancy, but let me introduce you to:

Cherrygrove City Pokemon Center

Which is a very simple front-end to a JSON file containing a Pokemon database. And despite being that simple, I already found a bug and a couple of potential improvements that should land in version 1.2.1 of the server.

The Pokemon Center allows searching by name, type of pokemon and abilities; and will show a different pokemon each day on the front page (learn a new pokemon every day; exciting!). Just a toy, but considering that I couldn't think of anything interesting to make, I'm happy with the result!

And my favourite pokemon is:

Zangoose

I will open-source the CGI once I have released the new version of the server and there aren't any "workarounds" in the script.
