I sit here as rain softly pitterpatters the porch, drops plinking on the metal rain gutter. A candle on the table lends aid to the little light bulb of the kitchen counter's lamp.

I'm sipping some tea, I've gone through my nightly ritual of packing up my stuff for work the next day, and I'm reflecting on the beauty and simplicity of sitting and doing nothing after a long day of travel, errands, and a few chores.

I've had the opportunity to catch up with some people lately that I don't always get to stay in close contact with. That's always nice. A well-built friendship stands the test of distance... humans have hearts and souls stronger than ADD-infused, short-term social media friends.
