The short/long thing is mostly a technical limitation. Gemini only allows 1024 bytes of uploaded information per request, so that limits how many characters you can submit at once. There is a different protocol called Titan that permits arbitrary uploads, so that is supported for sending longer chunks of text. You can also make a "long" post here by combining multiple short segments together.

Hello! This is a test introductory post on my end, hey my name is eggy I like puters lol. Still figuring out how to use this, I don't entirely understand what like a capsule or gemlog is so I think I need to do more reading, do most people do these short posts or should I be using the long text feature ahhh
