Bubble's polls have neat bar graphs done with box drawing characters. How is this working for everyone:
1. It's fine
██████▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ 27%
2. Super
██████▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ 27%
3. Boxtacular!
███████████▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ 46%
26 votes were cast.

lets me pick the other options when my vote is already cast. by design?
Yeah, changing your vote is allowed, in case you misclicked or changed your mind.
Maybe there should be a time limit on the changing to preserve some integrity in the result. Or I guess once the number of votes is high enough changing a couple won't affect the results.
IMHO polls should end at a certain time. After it has ended, votes cannot be changed anymore.
I think if polls can end at a certain time that should at least be optional. Personally, I like polls the way they are right now.
I would like to have a possibility to see the results without voting.
@emilis That is now possible by disabling your client cert when viewing the page.
Of course, there would be nicer ways to do it... However, I do want to encourage poll participation. That is why new polls have their own notification type that gets sent to all users when a new poll is posted.
@satch If polls have no end time, they are not actionable, because the result can change in the future.
If you want to use a poll to decide on a feature for the community, which voted in the polls, then you have to take screenshots a certain time to prove the result, which is a weak proof.
Also, the poller can arbitrarily skew the results by deciding when to use the then current result as the end result. They just wait and pick.
@emilis I was thinking about commenting that as well, but decided against it. Pollees, me included, could be influenced by seeing the results first.
Good points @michaelnordmeyer. I will probably add a configurable duration value for the poll after which voting will close.
BTW, it's interesting, that the least important entry on geminispace.org (polls) gets the most engagement.
haha
i agree that there are real advantages to having set end times for any kind of formal poll
If polls are required to have a time out duration, I think that there should be a very long option available.
