My name is pronounced / sɒtʃ /, by the way - it rhymes with watch. Idk why but for some reason it bothers me to think of ppl pronoucing it with a different vowel sound... am I justified in caring? Does name pronunciation matter at all when interaction is happening only through text?

I will venture an answer. Worrying more than a tiny amount about what people do where you can't see or hear them is a little paranoid. Are you worried about how I pronounce your name in my head where nobody can hear? 😊
I wouldn’t say I *worry*. it’s just that I care, because I think one sounds bad and doesn’t represent me while the other sound is much nicer.
So while I haven’t thought it out until now, I suppose it really just results from caring what people think of me.
