I would really enjoy hearing the stories he relays to you. Also please let us know his reaction to Gemini. It is exciting to hear of other reactions to this protocol. In the early '90s I ran a wildcat BBS with 2 phone lines. It was a lot of fun. There are still a lot of BBS out there though most of them use telnet or ssh for connection instead of pots lines. Look up mysticbbs for one example of currently maintained software that a lot of sysops use.

Introducing my grandfather to gemini! — I've had a number of conversations with my grandfather about his past as a bulletin board system admin, and you can really tell how infrequently he gets talk about it by how much his eyes light up when he gets the chance.
