@november: I think it's a visual style for GUIs, and from what I understand it's supposed to be less visually cluttered than whatever style was popular before it... But I might be wrong.
That’s a design code developed by evil corp (google) to make things larger and more usable on the modern giant smartphones. And I guess developers list it in the info about their app to say that it will look like a system app on recent androids, 13 or 14 version.
it doesn't help the fact that they hold advertising and browser monopoly, and actively turning the whole web into a spyware hellscape. A couple of opensource projects isn't enough for their long gone reputation
What google has done with Android is imperfect, but given the only other alternative I'm willing to give them the W. The rest of google is hard to redeem.
Please stop simping for Google in my subspace.
It's the most recent visual design language that Google has been using for a couple years now. One of the most noticeable features is that it derives colors for the UI based on your current wallpaper.
