i may install bubble on my server

so, i am not sure if i need to write it in some subspace or here, but whatever.

for the second time i met a friend who thinks of creating an arty website related to literature and specifically poetry, and a community around it. first time we discussed some options, i showed wordpress.com as an easy option to create a website and host it and get a domain connected.

then before today's meeting i had this idea that since she doesn't want to have a complicated website, but rather pretty minimalistic, i can teach her html, and creations of simple sites and hyperlinks.

we did that today. i showed how to do that with seamonkey composer, and then to link pages to each other. she asked how to not show a blue underline if that's a link, we found together <style> tag which allows to configure that, and i taught her to edit html.

then the community part - i explained what is fediverse, and showed matsodon, socialhome, writefreely and firefish.

and she said - can we have a community without images or videos?

and i said - well, what i love is gemini. it is a protocol and we have text experience. she was amazed. she liked it very much. i installed her lagrange, opened a couple of capsules, including our bbs and tootik hosted at gemini://hd.206267.xyz

she liked that experience a lot. she said she wanted something like that where nothing would distract from the text.

i expressed the concern that potential community members would not want to learn about new things, use a new program to access capsules. i said i hardly believe she can bring them even to mastodon. when i try to bring people to the internet - that's xmpp and mastodon, they say - that's too hard, this is for programmers.

and she had this hope that maybe it would be possible to gather a community.

she has to think about it.

but it would be funny if armenian literature community would be the spark in the gemini usage here. since i would imagine that technical people would start using gemini first and for the long time. but maybe this would happen and we'll have the armenian speaking literature oriented community on gemini space.

and most probably it'll use bubble software to socialize.

let's see, i don't want to have much hopes. still a little bit excited and wanted to share with you that someone i never expected to like gemini actually liked it.

so fingers crossed, i hope the political decision will be made and there will be people in the local literature community who would love the minimalism of gemini space.

then the technical stuff will need to be sorted out, like reverse proxying, since i already have one gemini capsule on my server.
