http 1.1 is not that, we need a subset of latest http and html, very small, preferrably without js support.

I don't think the exact subset is that important. I'd be willing to compromise, even to limit myself to a gemini-analogue. But... I'm focusing on following the "movement" rather than leading it... The way I see it for the smol web to be meaningful we need to 1. find ourselves 2. gather ourselves 3. lead ourselves... but it's a long, long way to Tiperary

The most significative difference between gemini and the smol web is that Gemini is an intentional effort for simplicity, while a small web might be small for whatever reasons.
