This particular post from solderpunk inspired me to finally read The Timeless Way of Building by Christopher Alexander, which had been on my list for a while. It ended up being one of the best books I've ever read, and iirc it also talk about the Nakagin towers (and why they didn't succeed). Highly recommended if anyone is interested in this kind of thing.
