The Mysterious Stranger

My door was open to catch the cool breeze.

I was entertaining my neighbors.

She appeared suddenly, smiling. "Hi!"

Who is that? I asked. A murmur.

"Where are you from?"

I mistakenly told the truth.

Who is that? I asked again. Another murmur.

She came right inside my house. With her cell phone.

That was it. I pushed everyone out of my house.

"What happened?" She seemed surprised.

Pointing to her cell phone she had put on my table: "That's not allowed."

I pushed them all out and closed the door.

She stood at my window and asked plaintively "What happened?"

"I never saw you before," I said, and closed the window.

Then I turned off the lights.
