waytris - tetris combined with conway's game of life

this is an old, small project of mine. it's tetris, but the board also obey the rules from conway's game of life.

there are 4 modes: one where the board does a game of life iteration every 10 seconds, one where each line clear triggers a game of life iteration, one where every drop triggers a game of life iteration, and normal tetris. the tetris mechanics follow modern tetris guidelines, so t-spins and piece kicking and such will work as expected

there's some cool things you can do with the conway logic. for example, you can use SZO pieces to make a lightweight spaceship. there are also plenty of combos that let you get a perfect clear after a conway iteration with as little as 3 pieces, so you can do back to back perfect clears for a long time

this was just a small project I took on as a way of playing with Rust, so it isn't polished. I haven't worked on it in over a year, though at some point I'd like to go back to it and add multi-player.
