tiny: terminal IRC client written in Rust

https://github.com/osa1/tiny

I found tiny when looking for a decent IRC client based in the terminal. Weechat is the usual standard, but I don't like the feature bloat and I don't like complex Python software (too many footguns).

Tiny supports retrieving passwords from other applications (like password managers), some advanced IRC features, and presents a simple clean interface. The project is under steady but slow development.

For IRC I currently prefer senpai due to its added feature set, including IRCv3 history, but Tiny will be my new preference if and when it gets the most important IRCv3 features. Senpai should be "safe enough" since it is written in Go, but IMHO it tries to do too much. All that Tiny is missing is more integrated bouncer support and IRCv3 chat history support.

Thanks for the recommendation. I currently use WeeChat, but I share your concerns regarding bloat and Python, so maybe I'll check it out.
