I have been also thinking about a slcl instance (https://gitea.privatedns.org/xavi/slcl) on an ESP32, using a microSD for storage, and replacing the OpenSSL bits with mbedTLS.

I like the idea of a solar-powered SBC serving a smolweb site, but I don't know how to set up the hardware. Particularly, I don't know what's involved with keeping the electricity regulated/banked/etc. Have any of you done this? what's your experience been like, what was the setup cost, and do you have guides you can share for getting it set up?
