Hemp tee shirts finally came in today (well 55% hemp 45% cotton), they feel very nice! much heavier than my worn out plastic shirts. Admittedly not perfect, a few rough fibers that I'm sure will get washed out in a rinse or two. still waiting on my hemp bed sheets to come in. kinda getting worried about them since it was supposed to be here today and the shipping tracker hasn't updated In days. now that payday has come I'm thinking of some hemp jeans and socks to complete the outfit oh and some scrubbies too😎 HEMP RULEZ!

@mouseless Thank you for the comment! I am happy to talk with you about it. Expressing curiousity doesn't make you a tool, far from it :)

So, I have become more concerned about certain enviromental things like microplastic pollution yes but also as a consumer how long certain things last becomes more important to me as I see the long run better. Most of my cloth stuff wears down in only a few months, rarely lasting a year. Polyesther gets thin, rough and nasty feeling. cotton also gets thinned down.My bed sheets were always polyesther and got rough as sand paper and needed replaced every so often.

So I was interested in a cloth material that was incredibly durable, got softer as it wore down, and was nice to the enviroment. I also considered cotton and linen.

Also, hemp was on my mind as I kind of knew about it through being a dope smoker for a decade. While not proud of it, im not ashamed either. I truly believe in the plant and its potential to bring positivity and healing to the world through its countless uses. So I wanted to try out hemp in particular partly because im already well versed with the plant.

When I did some digging into the material properties of hemp cloth I was blown away by many of its great aspects.

Hemp has natural thermoregulating properties keeping you cool in the summer and allows you to warm up in winter.

Hemp wears in, not out. Hemp’s tensile strength is up to eight times that of cotton.

becomes softer and more comfortable over time.

Naturally moisture-wicking & odour resistant

Naturally antibacterial & antifungal

Resistant to mould & mildew

Resistant to UV light

Soil release properties

Easy wash & care, machine washable.

Hemp doesn’t require pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers to grow. also a natural weed suppressant ⁣

Highly renewable and fast growing. can yield 200-250% more fibre in the same amount of land, comparative to cotton.⁣⁣

Replenishes the soil

Low water use, about half the amount of water comparative to growing cotton.

Industrial hemp has been shown to absorb more CO2 per hectare than any forest or commercial crop.
