Q: How often does Cosmos aggregate sources and which ones are they?
2023-05-22 · 1 year ago · 👍 sirwilburthefirst
The primary sources are currently:
gemini://gemini.circumlunar.space/capcom/ gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/ gemini://nytpu.com/feed.gmi gemini://calcuode.com/gmisub-aggregate.gmi gemini://midnight.pub/ gemini://smol.pub/feed gemini://caracolito.mooo.com/deriva/ gemini://rawtext.club/~sloum/spacewalk.gmi gemini://flounder.online/ gemini://station.martinrue.com/ gemini://geddit.glv.one/
They get polled every 60-90 minutes (randomized to spread the load over time).
The last two are only used as a source of comments. Some sources (especially the Spacewalk ones) spawn other gemlog-type sources that are then remembered and fetched separately.
Thanks. I tried looking for the source to answer my own question. Did I just not find the repo or is it closed source?
It's in a private repo currently. I could open it at some point, but before that happens I'd want to remove some hardcoded filters, etc. and add a proper configuration file.
Isn't using geddit, which allows for anonymous posting, quite a gamble to get Cosmos spammed?
Geddit is only used for comments in Cosmos, which means that a page that Geddit links to must already be published via some actual gemlog feed first.
I don't think any of the Geddit spams/jokes have appeared in Cosmos.
But you link to the comment on Geddit, right?
Correct, the comment pages on Geddit may be linked to by Cosmos.
