Cosmos doesn't currently support direct submissions, no.

Rather than adding such a feature, maybe another instance of Antenna could be run instead?

Thats a good idea! I actually don't know if antenna is open source never noticed a github link but I also never looked. I do know of the 'Comitium' aggregator that some of our friends use, and just remembered that some people have my capsule on their comitium agregation list so maybe it will actually show up tomorrow when their list is regenerated :)

I do hope that more Antenna instances appear. One very nice thing about Antenna is that content is submitted per post, not as an entire capsule feed. That means, e.g. there could be an Antenna for only tech-related content, and another for, I dunno, only poetry, and one for only mental health issues, etc. And people who spend 60% of their time talking about one of these things and 30% the other and 10% the last could just submit individual posts to the appropriate instance. And readers could subscribe to only the ones they care about, or even share their own "mixups" of aggregators. This might sound excessive now, but if Geminispace keeps growing, it'll be essential one day.

tried to get antenna running today on my capsule but some instructions don't match up. only gave it an hour... I'll try some more later.

@solderpunk I was thinking the same and pondered about hosting a couple of those a couple of weeks ago. The problem I see, however, is the inflation of semi-official places to notify people about new posts. This might lead to people knowing about a subset of these places while thinking that they see the whole Geminispace.

@michaelnordmeyer I hear what you're saying, but I feel like if those instances linked to one another there could be a semi-offical "themed" network. Despite this I spun up an instance yesterday.

@michaelnordmeyer Sometimes I think there are already a lot of people who think of Antenna as the whole of Geminispace! Eventually (I suspect/hope) people will need to give up on the notion of keeping up with everything happening in the whole of Geminispace. It's true that setting up too many new spaces too quickly could cause confusion and frustration, and we probably don't need e.g. Antenna for poetry yet. Things should grow and decentralise slowly so people have time to adjust their habits and workflows. I think having at least one tech-talk-only and one no-tech-talk-allowed space might not go astray? I am preparing to launch one non-tech aggregator project sometime soon, stay tuned!
