[#69] suggestion: use šŸ”— for user-provided links instead of m-dash

there doesn't seem to be an official unicode glyph for external links (there was a proposabl but it was rejected) but the chain symbol might carry the message?

The idea with the em dash was to act primarily as indentation in an unobtrusive way. I feel like inserting an Emoji/symbol here will add to the noise a bit too much. There already is quite a few symbols in use.

Could always experiment, though, or even make it a user option at some point.

fair enough. I did read about the added em-dash in the update notes and was still surprised to see one when I linked something. Might just be me but I was wondering what the dash was and whether or not I screwed up my link

The dash seems weird to me too šŸ¤· just saying

Iā€™m used to there being something both before and after a dash.

They are dynamically added so I can change them easily. Just need something that differentiates links inside content from UI links in a clean way.

@skyjake expanding on the initial idea. maybe a glyph from the unicode "arrows" page would fit, although I believe some might be extra wide.

What about an arrow, which differs from the normal double arrow? Like
