the shake-up.

it was announced today that the company is going through a major reorganization.

to be honest, it doesn't much affect my trajectory, but it is a big decision for many others on how they will proceed. nobody's been laid off, but there are offers on the table to leave the company and join the 'splinter cell'.

we'll see how it all shakes out.

i took a walk with a.g. and she knows a lot for not being told anything.

she just observes, watches who is meeting with who, and starts to put the pieces together. i respect her a lot even though she isn't in a senior or leadership position. she's awesome, and by the end of the day, her apprehension about the whole ordeal turned into enthusiasm.

o.f. and i went to dinner at san marzano after making a weak attempt to see the tree lighting at rockefeller center. too many people. we can see it any other day.

dinner was very good and the hostess was from austin, too, though she doesn't consider my suburb a part of austin. fair. but what am i supposed to say other than the name of the city when i meet people?

the waitress was a small, strong italian girl. she packs a punch. she treated us as if we could earn her respect, but that we did not have it by default. i say this in the most matter of fact way: she wasn't rude, and i don't expect people working service jobs to be reverent. i just found her matter of factness striking. i quite like it. we spoke to her a bit and she laughed at us trying to pronounce challenging italian words.

o.f. and i returned to my apartment and quickly tore off all of that unnecessary clothing and made love. we even say 'i love you' during sex now, which i think we both quite enjoy for its sharp effect.
