I'm not entirely sure why, but something about phrases like 'dopamine-fueled' has always rubbed me the wrong way. like, dopamine is one of the fundamental substances the brain uses to regulate its internal processes. sure, writing a computer program to exploit these processes in order to intentionally create addiction is outright evil -- but make no mistake, we're all button pushing monkeys here. whether you try to create low resistance pathways towards healthy habits or not seems to me as more or less something that is entirely othogonal to this. hmm, maybe this is just pointless pedantry on the meaning of the word 'dopamine'. OH well, fucken prescriptivists amirite???
