This morning I woke up at 0630. The windows in my house were all frozen on the outside. It was 63 degrees F inside, the heater has been turned off all summer. When I opened the front door, a sheet of ice and snow remained in place. I had to grab a broom to remove this from the doorway to get outside.
At 0710, after warming up the car for a bit, I drove my youngest daughter to high school. When we arrived, I was told that school was closed. Then I was chastized for not having signed up for text notifications. So, my girl had a day of online classes at home instead.
Come to find out, the storm did a lot of damage in town. Trees knocked down. Some on top of cars. Power knocked out (not at my house). Winds topping out at 85MPH. It is a tad early here for such weather. In Wyoming, though, it can and had snowed in every single month. One never knows.
